Draft Public Participation Plan (PPP) – March 23 to May 10, 2007
Produced in partnership by CMAP and the CATS Policy Committee, the
RTP Update (with revisions italicized in the PDF) will bring the
2030 Plan into compliance with new federal requirements but will not
change capital projects, which were recently updated. This update
will focus on the policy context, objectives and strategies.
The Public Participation Plan will guide CMAP’s activities through
2010. The proposed FY08 Unified Work Program lists planning
projects that CMAP and partners -- including Metra, CTA, RTA, the
Council of Mayors, CDOT and Pace -- will undertake to enhance
transportation in northeastern Illinois and to fulfill federal
planning regulations.

Once finalized, these documents will help shape CMAP's first
comprehensive plan for the region's land use and transportation.
That plan is scheduled for completion in 2010 (see
timeline)
To further facilitate comments, a public meeting was held at CMAP from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2. Pre-registration for
the meeting is appreciated (phone 312-454-0400) and will ease
attendees' entrance through Sears Tower security. Valid photo ID is
required for access.
